Brooke and the Beastie! Vegas Style | Travelling Family and Senior Photographer

Remember Brooke?  You should, she’s super awesome! She also happens to be a Senior this year.  In a place like Vegas that’s a big deal.  Not only because it’s her last year of dance team or prom or any other awesome things high school kids do but because she is the oldest of 5 kids.  The oldest of 5 kids to my beastie Alison.  Not only is this year a last of things for Brooke it’s a year of lasts and firsts for Alison.  This year they had their last Christmas with all of their kids living at home and soon they’ll take their last dance team trip.  Soon Brooke will move away for higher education, and her little sister Aubrey will quickly pounce on her unoccupied bedroom, replacing the Florence and the Machine albums with Taylor Swift CD’s.  Although her little girl is growing up faster than she can handle Alison will always have these images to remind her of before Brooke grew up. And Brooke will always have these pictures of when she was young and her only concern was how she is going to ask her boyfriend to Sadies. Which was totally epic by the way!

I dig these ladies and I’m FRIGGEN PUMPED to help them remember this time in their lives!

Lemonade and Lenses | We made the Favourite Images of 2012 List!

It’s been a pretty rad year for EpicDanger.  I know I just said that in the last post but I REALLY mean it.  For serious.  In years past I’ve done what we all think we are supposed to do as photographers.  Appeal to as many people as possible, photograph as many people as possible in whatever way they’d like.  Studio set ups, lame super posed photos, pictures where everyone where’s khakis and white golf shirts.  I’ve done it all.  And it’s stolen my soul.  So this year I decided to do things differently.  I decided to BE ME. Hate me or love me.  I’m okay with both.  I snobbishly only took on clients I meshed well with and if they wanted something I don’t do I referred them on to someone who does what they do super well.  I stopped trying to be all things to all people.  I had a damn great time and I created some work I’m really really proud of!  I don’t think it’s a coincidence that other people dig my work this year too.  Here’s an example of that!

Lemonade and Lenses put out a short list of their Favourite Images of 2012.  Guess who’s on it?  THIS GIRL! (thumbs pointed back at me like a boss!) Check it!

If you’ve gone and checked out the whole post over at Lemonade and Lenses you may have noticed you can vote.  There are some really rad images on there and I’m just pumped to be on the list! So vote for your favourite image!  And start thinking about your families session this year.  You never know maybe you’ll be on Favourite Images list next year!!  At the very least you will have some rad images to prove to those kids of yours that you did love them once.  True story!

Thanks again for another rad year!

T & The Boys At Home | Calgary Family Photographer

I LOVE , love, love , love shooting families in their home.  Telling their story.  Showing them their love through my camera. Even though it might sound corny and such I still friggen dig it.  So when Tanille called and told me they needed some photos celebrating their time here before they move from their home in Calgary back to their small home town a few hours away I was PUMPED!  I knew the session would be right up my alley and when I walked in and met Tanille and Sean I was instantly in my dorky happy place.

We snuggled, drank tea, played crib and just hung out.  It was a damn good day! I can’t wait to see where they hang their canvas in their new home!  Until then check it!

Probably my favourite image from the day. (below)

Did I mention there’s a super rad SALE going on for the next 6 hours?  Well there is! So book that ish now!
