Pops{Personal} | Calgary Family Photography

A few weeks ago my Dad sent me an email with these pics in them.  Turns out my Aunt had a box full of memories.  Although the scan job was not so great these three images really stood out to me.  There is something amazing to me about seeing my Dad as a little kid with fish in his hands as proud at a 10 year old can be! I love the goofy smile on his face, the way his shirt is too short and the evidence of the 70′s in his plaid bell bottom pants.  I love seeing my Nana as someone other than an old lady who does everything the “proper way” but as a mom to her boys.  I love everything about this image.

Then there’s the next two pics, I’m guessing Jeff is about 22-24 ish(I could be totally wrong) in these images.  I’m not sure who took them but apparently they are from his cousin’s house in Connecticut.  Once again I dig em.  This is the guy I remember when I was a little girl, and as time goes on those memories fade.

These old photos speak to me in so many different ways but the thing that stands out to me the most when looking at these images is that as a parent & Photographer I  NEED to be in more photos with my family.  It’s something I preach to clients about all the time.  It doesn’t matter if your hair is perfect or if you’re not your dream size one day we will all be gone and all our children will have are memories and photographs.

Even though my Pops is still with us, seeing these images bring me back to some of the happiest times with my Dad.  I am going to make sure that my kids have images of me, to bring them back to our happiest times. You should too!
