Lennon Wilde - BrandNew | Newborn Photos by Lauren Guilford

I told you all about how I “accidentally” got Birth Photography by LA Birth Photographer and friend Lauren Guilford when what I meant to hire her for was super awesome newborn photos.  If you haven’t read/watched our birth story/photos yet you can see them here.

In true Nikki fashion, around 4 am, in a High River Hospital room, I was speaking to a very friendly Delta agent while in labour so I could push Lauren’s flight back 24 hours in hopes we would have enough time to not only rock out some awesome birth photos but also get what I had in my mind as perfect newborn photos at home all 5 of us snuggled together.

Thankfully Wilde cooperated and Delta didn’t charge me millions of dollars, only hundreds It didn’t all go down how I had planned it weeks in advance.  In my mind I would have Wilde, I’d go home, recover a wee bit and Lauren would fly in a few days later.  You know newborn photos happening while she was 5-8 days old.  Something like that.  Instead, I got home from the hospital, had a shower while I think Lauren may have got Danger and Epic dressed.  She’s awesome like that.  Then an hour later while still swollen, still sore, still exhausted we snuggled up and made these images before dropping Lauren at the airport. Although dear god the house needed to be vacuumed, I don’t look my very best (in my mind), Lennon has so many scratches on her face she looks like she lost an epic battle with a cat and Chris literally fell asleep while taking pictures - they are still perfect.

I wouldn’t have them any other way.

So for all you peeps I know in real life that MAY have made fun of me for flying in a photographer for photos.  SUCK IT! Cause these are amazing! Thank you so much Lauren for taking time out of your life to come and tell such an important story for our family.  We love you more than you know!
