Bigger+Better Ksenak4 | Calgary Maternity Photographer

The other day I posted a wee little peek of Mikel and Shannon’s super cute, super fun, super super cold maternity session.  Mike and Shannon are that awesome couple you know will make even more awesome parents! I’ll be honest I’m a little concerned Shan is going to put my parenting skills to shame! However these twins (a boy and a girl) will most likely be their only pregnancy, so they both wanted to make sure that they were capturing it as much as possible.  When you are growing humans inside of you it’s hard to live in the moment and be happy for feet in the ribs so having lots of images to look back on and remember all the great and awesome things about carrying these babies is super important to them!  I am beyond honoured to be chosen to photograph this journey for them.

We started out with their “Gender Reveal” super tiny session, then did their fun “I can still put shoes on my own feet” session this past weekend and eventually when Shannon is ripe and just about ready to pop we’ll do another small session at their home so they can remember just how huge she was!

Now that I’m done blabbering away, here is their way cute, super awesome, photo session in Okotoks, AB at the Brown Sugar Bake Shop

Nikki my friend, you are the BOMB!

Again, I can’t thank you enough! Even though I feel giant and can even see changes in places other than my belly (aka pregnancy face!) these pictures mean SO much to us and I know that I’ll be so thankful when these two little bundles arrive to look back and remember how we got them here.

AND…thanks so much for the super kind words. If we’re even half as great as parents to our little miss and mister as you and Chris are to yours, we’ll have some pretty lucky wee ones.

Much love and thanks again!
Shan

Ksenak 4 SNEAK PEEK! | Calgary Maternity Photography

I’m not sure if you know this but DUDE it’s cold out here! Apparently our -17 actually feels like -36 right now.  Although it’s freeze your butt off cold with a foot of snow on the ground I’m tough.  Shannon and Mike, tougher!  Yesterday we braved the cold to spend some time taking pictures of what this new chapter of their lives look like.

These two babies Shannon is carrying make her absolutely GLOW! Here’s a little peek of some of the images we made.

You can see Mike and Shannon’s Anniversary session from two years ago here or their “One of Each” session here.

A big thanks to Karlie Cyr for her mad make up skills!

Nik - another great job! But of course when you’re working with someone as beautiful as SHANNON (okay, and Mike too…!) it’s hard not to get great photos! Congrats Shannon on these upcoming bundles of joy! Can’t wait to meet them next time I’m out there!

Olli&Lime Outtakes! | Calgary Commercial Child Photographer

A wee bit ago Andy from olli&lime got in touch about having some photos taken of their redesigned super soft way fun hooded blankets to grace their website and those of their retailers.  I was pumped because I love their products (Epic’s got most of the George range) and I love to work with people who’s products I LOVE. I was also thrilled because a couple of years ago Danger was the face of their seasonal line Charlie so now it’s Epic’s turn to be a famous child model!

About a month ago Andy posted their chosen product shots on their blog and today I’m here showing you the shots that didn’t get chosen ’cause I’m pretty thrilled with how cute they all are!

Meet Lola, Warren and my little guy Epic! (with a few shots of Danger mixed in there for good measure!

Disclaimer when Epic decided he’d had enough there were snuggles and cookies in abundance for him! But seriously he’s cute even when he cries!

Christmas Fun | The Epic Danger Days {Personal}

I feel like I’ve really been running with this whole “Take More Pictures Of My Kids” thing. The past few weeks I’ve captured some of the best images of my kids yet.  More importantly I’m capturing exactly who my kids are at 2 and 3 years old. I want to remember Danger’s “scary hands”, her NEED to suck her thumb and the way Epic sticks his tongue out when he’s happy.  I’m pumped that I will always be able to look back and remember the first time I decorated cookies with the kids or the excitement in their eyes when they woke up to see that “Walter The Elf” had delivered our Christmas tree in the middle of the night.  I love that I will forever have an image of Epic dancing in front of the tree and will always remember how much that kid loves to “break it down” as they say on Yo Gabba Gabba.

These two little humans with big personalities and way to much spunk are so amazing and pictures will help me remember just how awesome they are day in and day out!

Not very many people get to be fortunate enough to really do what they love for a job for their own families!

Here is our week through my camera!
